Army Letter Sheets
Special letter sheet for soldiers, valid only for inland use. Text in Urdu manuscript only. No imprint. Inscription at top right in two lines reading "For Armed Forces / no stamp needed" and "For Inland Use" at top left. No usual dotted line for showing folding edges. Blue overlay on left part of the horizontal sheet. Two closing flaps at top and left, upper flap gummed.

1980 - Redrawn Crest. The crossed swords have details missing in the handles, other features were generally fat or dull.

July 1980 - Same as above. Army Crest printed in green at top left corner in place of Urdu inscription. Larger address lines printed in dark blue. The Front shifted to right part of the sheet. Horizontal position.

Size of Arms: 25.00 mm diameter

August 1980 - Same as above but colourless address lines.

Post Card

Wheat design was repeated as the postcard rate increased to 20 paisa. The printing was similar to that of the 10 paisa card. Address lines composed of bold dashes of uneven thickness. First line (name) 25 dashes and one dot, 2nd (address) 24, 3rd 28, 4th (post office) 24, and the 5th (district) 25 dashes. Distance between the lines not equally divided: between 1st and 2nd 9.5 mm, 2nd and 3rd 8 mm, 3rd and 4th 8.5 mm and 4th and 5th 9.5 mm. On other side of the dividing line, the two address lines for the sender had 21 and 23 dashes.

The first printing was thick coarse brownish-off card; therefore, the impression was which lasted longer, was improved. The card was greyish-buff of finer surface. Address lines and whole impression was smoother but in dull green. Only double, reply paid cards were produced.

Thick address lines, the top one being 55.5 mm long. Dull printing. Perforation 7.

Second Printing:
August 1980 - Thin address lines, the top line being 55.00 mm. Smooth and finer print. "Postage" larger than before. Perforation 16.

Registered Letter

New denomination of Registered Letter. Text and construction same as previous issue. Stationery charges 70 paisa changed to Re. 1/- by rubber handstamp of various types and sizes.

Post Card - RICCIONE 80

A limited edition of the 20 paisa postcard (first printing) was overprinted "XXXIII International Stamp Fair RICCIONE" in deep green, above the sender's address lines. The printing was in three lines, of following lengths: 1st 10.00 mm, 2nd 51.00 mm and 3rd 31.00 mm. Overall size being 51.00 x 17.00 mm. "RICCIONE" was double in size than the other letters.
